PPF installation needs to be performed in a controlled environment with the correct
equipment and techniques available to achieve the highest quality install possible. There are plenty of shops/installers who will charge considerably less for a PPF installation because their quality is inferior to those we perform on our customer’s car’s.

Lifting Edges:
PPF edges lift when the panel isn’t cleaned thoroughly, or the film hasn’t been post-heated
following the installation. This can lead to dirt getting under the adhesive and preventing it
from ever sticking again. The solution for many would be to trim back the film so the lifted
edge is no longer peeling, however this can be easily noticed for the remainder of the films
life.

If any edges lift on our installs and cannot be fixed, our installers will replace the entire panel
under our 10-year warranty period.

Exposed Corners:
As paint protection film is so thick, it can be almost impossible to wrap around tight corners
the same as vinyl wrap. The solution for this is to apply the right amount of stretch to the
corners so the film can grip around as far as possible to achieve maximum protection &
coverage.

Panel Removal:
Most trim panels and parts can be easily removed by an experienced technician so the film
can be wrapped underneath leaving no edge of the film that can be seen. This not only looks a
lot neater, but it ensures 100% protection. The previous installer left these bonnet trims in
place on this Mustang to save time, but dramatically reduces the overall quality. When
installing colour-change vinyl films, we always disassemble cars to a large extent. Our
removal technician uses these same principles with PPF projects to achieve a seamless finish.

Adhesive and glue marks:
When the incorrect slip or tack solutions are used with PPF, it can damage the adhesive
which can be easily noticed as the film is clear. We have a detailed list of the correct ratios to
apply to our solutions depending on the brand of film we are installing, as well as the climate
on the given day. This allows us to mitigate the risk of getting these marks under the film on
our installations. We have achieved this level of detail through our years of experience with
installing paint protection films.
